• Cannobio

Cannobio is one of the most attractive small town in the region, 30 km north of Stresa on the western shores of Lake Maggiore and close to the Swiss border.

In town you will enjoy a nice waterfront promenade and harbor, and a small old town center with narrow cobbled streets, shops, and cafes.
Visit the 16th century Sanctuary della Pieta, the main town’s church home to the Pieta painting which started to miraculously bleed in the Middle Ages.

Also in town the 13th century Roman style Bell Tower, 41 meters high, and the beautiful 13th century Palazzo della Ragione where the tourist office is located.

The Cannobio beach is close to the town center and it’s among the loveliest in the lake, offering water sport activities such as sailing and kitesurfing.

For the nature lovers visit the Orrido di Sant’Anna Gorge, its pool and waterfall, 3 km west of town.
You can drive to the gorge or hike/bike an 8 km loop trail from the lido along the side of the Torrente River, a nice trail for children offering attractions along the way.

West of town the Parco Nazionale della Val Grande offers numerous hiking trails.
