Berchtesgaden is a small town and a tourists’ base for the Konigssee Lake and the Berchtesgaden National Park visitors, considered one of the most popular mountain resorts in the Bavarian Alps.

The town, considered the start (end) point of the Alpine Road, is in the southeastern region of Germany on the Austrian border, 141 km southeast of Munich and 25 km south of Salzburg, Austria.
