• Bath’s Georgian architecture and the Royal Crescent

Exploring Bath’s perfectly preserved Georgian architecture is one of the city’s main attractions. Visit the Museum of Bath Architecture and walk to the northwest section of the city where most of the best architectural examples are found.

Admire Queen Square and Gay Street, with their beautifully symmetrical facades, the Royal Circus with its circle of three-story homes, and the Royal Crescent, a semicircular sweep of residential townhouses with palace-like facade. Note that No.1 Royal Crescent is open to the public, providing an image of the late 18th century life of the rich.
